Heavy Machinery Used in Copper Mining

Copper Mining Operation

Copper ore mining is the operation of physically removing ore from deposits in the earth. There are three basic methods of extracting copper ore: surface mining, underground mining, and solution mining. Surface and underground mines usually operate independently of each other, although underground techniques are sometimes used before or after surface methods. Some open-pit surface operations extract massive sulfide deposits and intersect abandoned underground workings that were closed due to the low grade of oxide and sulfide ore.

Heavy Machinery Used in Copper Mining

Copper Ore Crushing Plant for Sale

The first step in open pit copper mine is crushing operation. Crushing may be performed in two or three stages. Primary crushing systems consist of crushers, feeders, and conveyors used to transport ore to coarse ore storage. Primary crushing is often accomplished by a jaw crusher or gyratory crusher, since these units can handle larger rocks. Impact crusher and cone crusher will be applied in secondary and tertiary crushing process.
